Training Details:
This interactive training introduces exploratory scenarios as a practical foresight tool for interpreting trends and signals from the Trend Report for Planners and exploring multiple plausible futures to inform community planning. Participants will gain a clear understanding of exploratory scenario planning methodology and examine a real-world case study demonstrating how scenarios can be applied in planning practice. Through hands-on exercises using scenarios developed for the 2026 Trend Report for Planners, participants will actively practice applying this tool to advance community planning in times of uncertainty.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the APA foresight toolset for planners and its relevance to planning practice.
- Apply exploratory scenario planning to planning activities.
- Strengthen futures literacy skills by developing multiple plausible futures based on emerging trends and key uncertainties.
