Make your voice heard. Join the movement for federal action on zoning reform. Planners’ Day on Capitol Hill is an immersive, online advocacy experience that includes in-depth training and direct access to your elected officials.
Get insider knowledge into federal policy and hone life-long advocacy skills.
The on-demand Planners’ Day trainings include five individual modules, and a live opening session the morning of June 10.
This member-exclusive advocacy training features Principal of Public Affairs Jason Jordan as he highlights APA’s 2026 policy priorities and offers critical legislative context for the current Congress. You will learn how to be an advocate and how to effectively build relationships and influence elected officials. You'll hear from a returning Planners’ Day participant who shares their experience and some tips and tricks for advocating. Finally, APA public affairs staffers Brenna Donegan and Zoe Kaplan explore why ‘It Takes A Planner’ to inform better policy decisions, and how you can incorporate outcome-focused storytelling to emphasize the unique value of planning during your meetings.
The insightful opening session will feature policy experts who will give updates on what’s happening on the Hill and how housing and zoning policy connect to transportation and other community goals.
