Series Description: Artificial intelligence is reshaping entry-level work; what does that actually look like for planners and the future of the profession? Join APA for two panel discussions, first with entry-level planners themselves, then with employers and educators of those just starting their careers. These discussions, led by the APA Career Center and APA Foresight program, will explore how entry-level planning jobs are changing and what can be done today to be better prepared for the future.
In the first installment of this Career Catalyst series, hear directly from entry-level planners about their experience with AI on the job. Panelists will discuss how (or whether) their education and training matched the day-to-day expectations employers have for their use of AI tools, and whether AI use has been genuinely helpful or useless. The conversation will also tackle a question many early-career planners are asking themselves: is AI making entry-level work more valuable and interesting, or is it narrowing the on-ramp into the profession? Join us for a candid, ground-level look at what AI may bring for the next generation of planners.
The second installment of this series will take place on Wednesday, October 28 from 12-1pm CT.
